"Songs for your Busy Day" by Music by Mommies (Kids Artist from New York(NY))

Music by Mommies and their motivating children/family album, "Songs for your Busy Day" will have your kids energized in no time to do their daily routines. This CD was written and produced by talented musicians/moms Michele Purcell and Barbara Fine Buxbaum who know just how hard it can be to encourage children to keep an everyday schedule. Together, they have written lyrics and melodies of Folk/Pop style so that each song displays a fun, cheerful, and positive message while learning at the same time. Right from the start, the first song, "Get Up" wakes up the sleepy child from bed as the sound of an alarm rings so he can get ready for school. The march like drum beat of "We're Going" will have the kids moving out the door in a timelier and faster manner and reminding them to not forget to put on their shoes and bring a coat. Ending the album, the song "Sleep," is a sweet and tender tune that will let your child settle down and unwind from the busy day. "Songs for your Busy Day" is a fun and interactive album of educational learning that all children/families will love to listen to.

"You're All Wrong-EP" by HolliePollock (Classic Rock Artist from Salem, Oregon(OR))

"You're All Wrong-EP" by HolliePollock has a cool alternative sound to it while also having the Classic Rock feel of Zepplin to it as well. The vocals are just as gritty as the instrumentation and lyrics which gives this album an abundance of intensity. The title track, "You're All Wrong" with its dynamic drums and talented bass emulates both lyrically and musically an expression of loneliness that's identifiable with everyone. "13th Sun" is another talent-dense track on the EP with strong and solid guitar work that embellishes the lyrical vocal. The music is on the forefront while the vocals linger behind in an almost spooky, but interesting way. This CD contains 5 tracks of intense Classic Rock music spanning this bands performance of outstanding musical capability. If any kind of Rock music is your preference, then this EP is definitely well worth hearing.

"Can't Hardly Wait" by Ken L (Rap Artist from California(CA))

Ken L's latest EP is "Can't Hardly Wait." It's a solid collection of hard-hitting rap songs culled from a variety of urban music influences. The title track "Can't Hardly Wait" is a more fun-loving hip hop song with Ken L rapping about his own life. "Go Girl!!!" has more of a serious beat to it, utilizing a punchy drum line and brass section highlights - and reminiscent of a New York style rap song. "Whut U Wanna Do???" features the rapper rhyming over a more club-friendly, energetic beat. Ken L's "Can't Hardly Wait" EP is a showcase for his evocative lyrics against a backdrop of varied and spirited hip hop rhythms. If you appreciate bold and brisk styled rhyming and beats, then "Can't Hardly Wait" is an EP you should check out. WARNING-CONTAINS EXPLICIT LANGUAGE

"Boogie Woogie Woman" by Ann Stockdale (Blues Artist from Seattle, Washington(WA))

With the instincts and wiles of a seasoned pro, Ann Stockdale hits all the right notes throughout a diverse mix of Americana music styles on the blues and jazz vocalist's latest CD, "Boogie Woogie Woman." Following the path that brought musically like-minded Norah Jones to stardom, Stockdale leaves no stone unturned over the course of a 10-song album that deftly shifts between piano ballads ("Here Comes My Baby"), jazz-inflected boogie tunes ("Boogie Woogie Woman"), Sonny Terry-ish country blues ("Understanding Heart"), blues-rock ("After Memphis"), traditional country ("Hank Williams"), and even zydeco blues ("Movin' On"), expertly guiding a band that knows these particular backroads of roots music as instinctually as their leader. What ultimately makes the terrific "Boogie Woogie Woman" CD shine, though, is Stockdale's finely-aged voice, an instrument tailor-made for her heartfelt explorations into America's rich musical traditions.

"Other People's Stories" by Teira Doom (R&B Artist from Los Angeles, California(CA))

"Other People's Stories" by the talented artist Teira Doom is simply some silky smooth R&B/Soul. She uses heavy R&B influences in her vocal styles as well as with her instrumentation. Doom also displays her creativity as she implements a chorus of voices that alternates with the bright and crisp piano chords in the stirring song "Break Me Off." The track "Finding Home," is a slow, heartfelt track, which gives Doom a chance to really show off her vocals prowess with stunning vocal range and tonality. "Other People's Stories" is a great album for any fan of R&B/Soul, urban grooves, or strong female vocals and is well worth listening to.

"Del Castillo" by Del Castillo (Latin Artist from Texas(TX))

The Latin Rock fusion band Del Castillo and their self-titled album is a thorough blend of styles from all around Latin America and Spain coupled with sultry, romantic, and even tragic lyrics. All thirteen tracks will pull the listener into dramatic sounds of flamenco guitars and the lively beats of conga and bongo drums. "Boricua del Cielo" is a flamenco salsa crossover that opens the CD giving a perfect introduction to the style of this band. The song speaks of an enchanting woman who seems to have 'magic' in the way that she dances. The harmony in this track brings a lot of life to the lyrics and it's near impossible to not dance or at least want to when listening. "Anybody Wanna" is a Spanglish cumbia-rock combo that has an easy going sound throughout the track, but invites the listener to dance at the same time. A standard drum set is prominent in this track and the lead singer's strong vocal range is fully showcased. Where the Gypsy Kings and Los Lonely Boys met is where Del Castillo was created. This is a CD that can and will be enjoyed by aficionados of multiple musical tastes.

"Balumba Tombo revolution" by Various Artists (Pop Artist from Italy)

New from Italy's Pedale Baroque, "Balumba Tombo revolution" is another eclectic compilation of Pop and World Music artists and songs reflecting the wide-open scope of the unique project that produced '07's "Balumba Tombo reloaded." From the psych-inspired "Sea Child" by Danger, to the East-meets-West hybrid sound of Gandhi Goes to Bollywood's "Welcome to Legoland," the diversity of the 10 tracks blend perfectly to create a borderless pastiche of pure musicality. "Requiematic" by Maestro Poldo Catara dabbles in classical nuances, while CD-opener, "Distraction physique" by Bohemian Flambe, is straight-ahead rock with a decided French influence. Elsewhere, Frograssa's weird and unsettling "Frogs in frocks" and the ultra-'80's feel of Leonid Sdjalayev' "Eto niemoi film?" push the boundaries without sounding uncharacteristic or out of place. A CD for the musically adventurous, the "Balumba Tombo revolution" compilation is a provocative mix of styles and influences that will leave you wanting more from the compelling and innovative Pedale Baroque collective.

"Occupantional Hazard" by Gary M Hall / The Occupants (Folk Rock Artist from Colorado(CO))

Gary M Hall / The Occupants latest album goes by the comical name of "Occupantional Hazard." This is an album of songs that range from Folksy/singer-songwriter to quasi-psychedelic rock, always led by Gary M Hall and his honed guitar playing. "Welcome Black" is one of the more dream-like songs, in which Gary sings slowly and with much reverb over guitar picking in an almost early Pink Floyd like number. For "The Hills of Platonia" we encounter a song that features just the guitar, yet it is a beautifully moving and serene song. "I'd Rather Be Round" is more of a frolicking and playful tune that features mostly silly vocals and quick guitar playing, think Bob Dylan meets Raffy. Gary M Hall is an accomplished guitarist who has played almost four decades and has been involved with many musical genres, and it shows within this album. Check out "Occupantional Hazard" if you think you would enjoy an album of guitar-led and amusing, yet quasi-hallucinatory, Folk/Rock.

"When She's Around" by The Dave Rawlinson Band (Country Artist from Seattle, Washington(WA))

The Dave Rawlinson Band put together a relaxed, classic Country album with "When She's Around." Rawlinson's vocals are spot on and definitely hit that country twang without sounding trite. Like Johnny Cash before him, there are fast-paced Country duets with Alexandra Rawlinson. The song, "Big John," sounds like music from an old western soundtrack, accented with haunting whistles. "I Try to Think About Elvis" is an especially powerful track, with electric guitar and both vocalists putting in a strong performance with exceptional harmonies. "When She's Around" is a solid Country album that can easily hold it's own against any mainstream Country performers today.

"Blaze Away" by Brokenworks (Rock Artist from Oregon(OR))

The most recent album from Brokenworks goes by the name of "Blaze Away." It is an album recorded, to be very vague, in a "Rock" style mentality but that doesn't say much as the songs of the album fall everywhere on the Rock genre spectrum. What unites the music of the album is that is it created as a tuneful affirmation of God's love. "Count It All Joy" is a boisterous and fun Rock song that celebrates the feelings of joy one can feel within their life. "Long Live the King" is a slow moving Rock ballad, with a focus on the piano that is in reverence to the creator of us all. "Sanctuary" is a song that decides to simplify things and focus on the harmony between male and female vocals, with a beautifully played acoustic guitar in the background. This album is perfect for those who enjoy a band who attempts to show many sides of Rock music within one album, as well as those who appreciate Contemporary music that is in celebration of the divine.

"Unbroken" by Patrick DeGennaro (Pop/Rock Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

Patrick DeGennaro's latest album, "Unbroken," is an album recorded in an adult Pop/Rock fashion with songs that take from the Blues, Rock, and Jazz genres. "Standing Up Straight" is a toe-tapping blues song, in which groovy guitars and solid organ chords interact with Patrick's unique vocals. The song, "The Best of Me," is a slow moving ballad in which Patrick shares heartfelt feelings over sweet and soothing piano playing. Another song, "Let Me Be Your Eyes Again," is an adult contemporary song which uses a jittering beat in a song that takes from both the Blues and Jazz. This music works well for those who can appreciate an adult contemporary artist who makes their voice the central instrument around different types of musical styles. People who appreciate Billy Joel's slower songs would do best to check out Patrick DeGennaro's latest release "Unbroken."

"The Cosmic Dance" by Burning Truth (World Artist from Oregon(OR))

"The Cosmic Dance" by Burning Truth sounds like part of a full live experience. The music is made dynamic by the use of a number of different exotic instruments and is obviously meant to inspire dance. Many of these instruments (such as the didjeridu, tablas, and cuarto) can be heard on the title track "The Cosmic Dance" and "Journey Back to The Void." Most of the tracks, like "Gypsy Groove," feature haunting vocals from both male and female singers, but some are simply instrumental. While this music is obviously meant for the stage (they often have fire displays in their live show) "The Cosmic Dance" will still be enriching through your home speakers as well.

"Hollywood Flower" by Daniel Guy Martin (Instrumental Artist from Canada)

Award-winning guitarist Daniel Guy Martin returns with "Hollywood Flower," another stellar album of instrumental guitar compositions that simply defy categorization. Part New Age-like spontaneity, part pure jazz improvisation, Martin's explorations result in melodic and accessible tunes that are nevertheless completely satisfying. Album opener, "Beautiful Cold Feet," reflects the composer's New Age influences with a solemn, introspective melody, while title-track, "Hollywood Flower," delves the guitarist's jazz instincts with equal finesse. Elsewhere, "It's Up To You" offers a more sprightly invocation of the guitarist's songcraft, with Martin displaying a dexterity on his acoustic guitar that belies the seeming ease of its performance. An album for fans of New Age music, Daniel Guy Martin's "Hollywood Flower" album is a must-hear for fans of intricate and eclectic instrumental guitar improvisations.

"Trio West Plays Holiday Songs, Vol. 2" by Trio West (Jazz/Holiday Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

The simplicity of a trio brings a new light to classic holiday tunes when the group, Trio West, presents their latest outstanding album "Trio West Plays Holiday Songs, Vol. 2." A stand-up bass, drum kit, and piano bring a Latin/Jazz flavor to the songs we've heard all our lives during the holidays. You may hardly recognize tracks like "Silent Night Samba" as it has an upbeat flavor with spectacular piano progressions. Some may be more easily deciphered like their rendition of "Jingle Bells" with a crisp and bright piano that glides effortlessly across the keys. The whole album moves at a steady pace and if you like one track, you have to like them all. "Trio West Plays Holiday Songs, Vol. 2" is a great substitute for the bland retellings of Christmas stories past and is truly a breath of fresh air.

"Need Want" by David Cain & Senses (Jazz Artist from New York City, New York(NY))

If "Need Want" by David Cain & Senses were boiled down to one word, it would be: Hot. This soulful Progressive Jazz oozes virtuosity at ever beat. Every instrument on the album from the bass guitar, to the trumpet, to the synth is played with impressive mastery of the craft. But most noticeably, Cain puts as much feeling into his sax playing as he does into his singing. As a whole, the sheer skill of this outfit is displayed in the track "To You." Also, they really stretch outside being boxed into any genre with tracks like "Dude Where's My Face." These unique qualities, along with great musicianship and years of experience are what make "Need Want" a successful album and one in which you will thoroughly enjoy.

"Still" by Jordan Bluth (Holiday/Easy Listening Artist from Arizona(AZ))

The first thing you will notice about Jordan Bluth's new Christmas CD, "Still," is the singer's powerful vocals. Bluth is obviously classically trained and is beyond comfortable in his wide baritone range. Classics like "I'll Be Home For Christmas" are sung with such power it reminds you how these songs became classics in the first place. The instrumentation and arrangements are also notably rich and complex. The album features a wide range of strings, piano, and other orchestral instruments. His voice plays especially well with the strings on "What Child Is This." "Still" puts great emotion back into holiday songs we hear year after year, and we have Jorden Bluth and his fine Christmas CD to thank for that.

"New Music for Banjo" by Mark Sylvester (Classical Artist from Maryland(MD))

Mark Sylvester's latest CD is titled "New Music for Banjo." It is an album built around Mark's skillful banjo playing, featuring both a bluegrass and classical sensibility. CD-opener, "Trio #1, movement 1," is a beautifully gentle and warm composition comprised of the banjo, oboe and cello. On "Cascade," however, Mark shows off his finger-picking skills in a solo piece for him and his prized banjo. Then there is "Pulse (in 7)," a complex and introspective piece in which Mark's banjo takes a slight backseat to the fevered interplay of a string quartet. This album is a well-crafted crossroads for contemporary, classical and folksy banjo playing. If you enjoy Bela Fleck, or interesting takes on classical music, then Mark Sylvester's CD, "New Music for Banjo," is an undoubted must-hear.
