"Amber In The Clay" by Davie Gayle (Country Artist from Riverside County, California (CA))

If Emmylou Harris had ever decided to rock out in her career, then the result would have sounded something like Davie Gayle's latest record, "Amber In The Clay." With songs ranging from country to contemporary ballads, Gayle takes us for a trip down Americana lane and does not disappoint. Her pristine country vocals sound wonderful and emulate classic Dolly Parton, but still have an original feel to it. You can hear Gayle's sweet voice on songs like "Get Me" and "You Don't Say." Looking for the Americana feel? Look no further than the title track as it is a perfect listen for anyone who enjoyed Robert Plant/Alison Krauss's disc ("Raising Sand"). There are also some fine pedal steel guitar moments on this record, as heard on "3:09." If you are looking for that timeless female country vocal tone with a little rock 'n' roll under it, then this Davie Gayle's "Amber In The Clay" is for you.

"Each Lifetime Is A Voyage" by Howce Clemens (Rock/Pop Artist from New York City, New York (NY))

Howce Clemens brilliantly fuses the sounds of pop, rock, and R&B on his new EP, titled "Each Lifetime Is A Voyage." Clemens' voice throughout the entire album has a musky Johnny Cash vibe to it. That country vocal tone shines through on numbers like "Please Take Care" and "Little Darlin'." Taking a nod from another rocker band fused with country, the Eagles, Clemens delivers a wonderful piece of music with the title track, "Each Lifetime Is a Voyage." The vocal harmonies in the chorus and complementing instrumentation give this track a happy, lighthearted feel. Howce Clemens' "Each Lifetime Is a Voyage" is a great album for any Johnny Cash or Eagles fan looking for a new and fantastic set of tunes.

"Whitelite Britelite" by Auradrone (Electronica Artist from Los Angeles, California(CA))

Imagine if the members of The Cure decided to replace lead singer Robert Smith with a sexy female vocalist. If you can't, then perhaps listening to "Whitelite Britelite" by Auradrone will help you see the big picture. Hailing from Los Angeles, the band is fronted by the very talented Jon Mack. Her vocals are filled with tasty lyrics and sex appeal to the max. Just give a good listen to songs like "Auto Erotic" and "A Channel," and listeners will be able to hear her vocals at their best. The band is also very good and is great at changing the style of songs while still keeping that "Auradrone" sound throughout it all. "Indigo Child" is both classic 80's and super erotic at the same time, so be sure to give that track a few spins. If you love The Cure or the sound they represent, give Auradrone's "Whitelite Britelite" a good listen.

"A Heaping Helping Of Perspective" by The Conniption Fits (Pop Artist from Vermont(VT))

Boston rockers The Conniption Fits give a solid performance on their long awaited album of new material with "A Heaping Helping Of Perspective." Hailing from New England, they carry with them the rock sound that many Boston-based bands are known for (which is something mixed between The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Blink-182). Front man Steve Blanchard leads the band through rousing numbers such as "Now I Take My Leave" and "Grit Your Teeth." One of the tracks that stands out the most was "She Just Needs To Go Away," an obvious nod to the late 70's sounds of Cheap Trick. Blanchard has opened for many well-known acts like 3 Doors Down, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Blue Oyster Cult and it shows, as he and the band's maturity and knowledge really help make this album something special. The Conniption Fits' "A Heaping Helping Of Perspective" is a great addition to any fan that enjoys the work of Jimmy Eat World or the Boston music scene.

"Where We Come From" by Ray William Roldan (Country Artist from Los Angeles, California(CA))

If Tom Petty ever went full-on country, then it would most likely sound something like Ray William Roldan's latest effort "Where We Come From." Roldan does a terrific job fusing country with pop-riddled vocal melodies and honky-tonk guitar riffs. There are some typical, yet well played country moments on this disc, particularly on songs like "My Country Rocks" and "Cowboy Cadillac." However, what make this album shine are tunes like "Back to Texas," which strongly resemble some of the later Traveling Wilburys work. Another nod to that sound comes by way of Roldan's vocals which emulate Jeff Lynne and cult country legend J.J. Cale. Ray William Roldan's "Where We Come From" is a very enjoyable disc whether you are a diehard country fan and/or love that Americana/pop style.

"The Temple of Humanity" by Freestone (Rock Artist from The Netherlands)

Looking for something new and different? Then you should give a listen to the album "The Temple of Humanity" by pop/rock band Freestone. This band emulates the cosmic tones familiarized by Pink Floyd and does a great job at reproducing those sounds. "The Ancient of Days" is a mellow song, featuring talented saxophone playing that makes the instrument sound almost as if it is singing. The title track exhibits a relaxing drum beat and equally soothing vocals. The instrumentation on this disc drips of Pink Floyd, with lush synth melodies and haunting guitar work. Although the material of Freestone's "The Temple of Humanity" is rare compared to what is "standard" today, it is a great listen for any Pink Floyd fan or ancient ritual buff and should definitely be checked out.

"Moontime" by Kelly Moon McGinnis (Rock Artist from Colorado(CO))

Colorado-based songwriter Kelly Moon McGinnis delivers a one-two punch of blues and rock on his latest effort, "Moontime." McGinnis is a well-known staple in the Denver area and has opened for famed acts such as Big Head Todd & the Monsters and Leon Redbone. The most likeable thing about this album is McGinnis's vocals and the way in which he delivers them. In "Your Wishing Well," listeners get to hear his gritty singing voice, very similar to that of Tom Waits or Bob Dylan. McGinnis's songwriting also stays true to the blues roots and features some exciting guitar work as well. Another standout track is "God Is Love," which has a tropical feel to it and is very reminiscent of late 70's George Harrison work. This album is a must-have for any Waits fan or anyone who loves that nitty-gritty blues sound.

"The Ballad Of Billy Saigon" by Wes and Victoria (Folk Artist from Colorado(CO))

"The Ballad Of Billy Saigon" by Wes and Victoria is folk rock/Americana at its best and deserves a good listen from any fan of that genre. Originally hailing from Texas, the duo's work has that southern feel and is a great mix of folk, rock, country and good ol' cowboy music. Wes has a very unique singing voice that is particularly raw, letting you feel every note and word he is singing. The harmonica talent of Victoria is well highlighted on songs like "Trail of Tears," and it sounds great. There is also a very welcoming Rolling Stones-influenced number called "Love Got a Mind of Its Own," a song that could easily be compared to anything the Stones did in their best years. For listeners that enjoy folk rock and Bob Dylan, Wes and Victoria's "The Ballad Of Billy Saigon" is definitely worth listening to.

"Mysteriously In Love" by Christopher K. G. Hagadone (Pop Artist from Salt Lake City, Utah(UT))

Christopher K. G. Hagadone dishes out some original electronica music on his newest EP, titled "Mysteriously In Love". The album is comprised of European-sounding dance beats with various rapping/vocals layered on top, making for a very interesting album. Hagadone says on his website that "Mysteriously In Love" is "a CD about a mysterious girl. Who in fantasy is like no other girl." Each song is like a chapter in a book, each telling the story of Hagadone's dream girl through lyrics and intense background music. Two of the four "chapters" that stand out are "Hey You Standing There," describing Hagadone's attempt to flirt with the dream girl, and "I Can't Find Her," a song in which the storyteller awakes from his dream and realizes his fictional girl is gone. This EP is perfect for any electronica fan or someone looking for an album with an underlying story.

"Yes We Can - Obama's Dance Anthem" by DJ Coz (Pop/Electronica Artist from District of Columbia)

DJ Coz has skillfully arranged a patriotic single, "Yes We Can – Obama's Dance Anthem," with grooving dance beats. Coz sends a motivational message of inspiration using selected lines from President Barack Obama's recent historic speeches. There is a great loop effect on the chorus of the song with subtle, yet bouncy synth strings on the verses. Various clips of Obama's speeches are eloquently synced to the rhythmic beats of the drums. "Yes We Can" and "Change is Coming" are just a few of the unforgettable quotes Obama made during his campaign and they will live on forever both in history and in this song. Comprised of 2 male vocalists and 1 female vocalist, Gnos-Tel-Jah offers up a psychedelic ride of Hip-Hop fused with rock and spoken word. "Midnight Swang" represents the rap side to their debut disc with easy flowing rhymes and is reminiscent of the group Outkast. "Bolo!" by Swaha (Spiritual Artist from Ontario, Canada)

Did you ever just want to pop in a relaxing CD at the end of a long day? If so, Swaha's newest CD "Bolo!" is a great choice to soothe your soul. Taking hints of Indian mantras and spiritual music, Swaha does a magnificent job with their newest disc. Vocalists Dave Stringer and Tara MacLean serve up some excellent performances on this CD. As for the music, the raga flare sets the mood for some beautiful sounds on songs like "Shiva Manas Puja" and "Jaya Ram Shri Ram." Another great feature of "Bolo!" is the pop sound that is delivered on many of the songs including "Govinda Gopala." "Destiny" by Al Sofia (Pop Artist from Illinois(IL))

Talented vocalist Al Sofia shares his love for pop/easy listening music with his latest disc, "Destiny." With hints of Bobby Darin and Michael Buble, Sofia delivers an exceptional disc of both originals and cover songs. The title track "Destiny" shows his knack for creative songwriting and has that Philadelphia soul vibe to it. Although the album does feature some great original work, it is Sofia's covers that really shine through. Taking someone else's music and making it your own is never easy, but Sofia does it with ease on songs such as "You Raise Me Up" (popularized by Josh Groban). There are also some jazzy takes on well known Broadway numbers like "Seasons of Love" from the musical Rent and "It's Possible" from Suessical. "Euphony" by Randolph (Jazz Artist from Los Angeles, California(CA))

The widely eclectic album "Euphony" by Randolph offers a vast variety of both songs and acoustic instrumentation. Most full band albums consist of the usual key instruments (drums, bass, guitar, and vocals) but Randolph has opened the door wide open on his newest collection of jazz/blues/world pop with use of djembe, cajon, congas, bongos, tablas, timpani, drum kit, violin, trombone, sax/flute, alto flue, bassoon, oboe, and numerous ethnic instruments. The result is magnificent and is well displayed on songs like "That Piece of Me" and "Analog Man." The album is also filled with numerous lead vocal appearances, all of which are tastefully done and fit well within the song choice. There is also a great throwback to the singers of the '60's on songs such as "Let's Get Connected." If you are into pop/jazz or anything Elvis Costello has put out in recent years, you will enjoy "Euphony."

"Excellent Distraction" by Miles Stiebel (Jazz Artist from Washington D.C.(DC))

Notable band leader, Miles Stiebel, proves he is one of the most sought after musicians in his field with "Excellent Distraction." This album is a vibrant mix of emotionally charged jazz instrumentals, covers, and some of Stiebel's originals. Not only is he a well known band leader himself, but the disc was produced by Grammy nominated Bob Dawson and mastered by Grammy winner Ted Jensen (who has also worked with Norah Jones). Stiebel shows us what he does best on "Sir Duke," the first single off the record that strays from the typical jazz progressions and offers up a little bit of funk. Although the violin is not common in most jazz records, Stiebel uses it generously on many tracks such as "Midnight Fifty." The addition of the violin provides a rousing country feel to what could have been just a typical jazz number. Although Stiebel already has many fans, "Excellent Distraction" will be bringing in many more.

The piano is undoubtedly one of the most soothing instruments to calm one's nerves and musician Joshua Mills knows exactly how to do the job. The title says it all as this music does in fact belong in every spa across the country. "Ascending & Descending" is a bit darker than the rest of the album, but gives us something to listen to on one of those off days when we are all a little frustrated and need that one song that describes our day. Mills was also creative in the song names he chose as they very much reflect the ambiance of this album: "Glorious Horizon," "Fly," "Fragrant Oil," and "Heaven's Delight." Fans of Pink Floyd or Electric Light Orchestra won't be disappointed when listening to Steve Jones' "Clear Blue Sky," as it is filled with creative melodies and vivacious beats.

"All That I Could Give-New Edition" by David Hansen (Easy Listening Artist from California(CA))

David Hansen's "All That I Could Give-New Edition" is a wonderful piece of music that really delivers to the adult contemporary crowd. Although his background is strongly rooted in jazz music, Hansen throws out more of an adult pop punch on his most recent effort. On the title track "All That I Could Give" screams of classic James Taylor vocal approach and is smooth and silky in style. If you are looking for some soothing jazz then "Love In Three Days" is a good track to check out. It features some very well polished jazz flute riffs and invites you into the artist true musical taste. This CD could easily be spun on any light rock radio station today and is a great listen. Should you find yourself wanting to hear something new and in the musical style of James Taylor or Steve Winwood then "All That I Could Give- New Edition" is a CD you will want to add to your collection.

"Earnest Songbook" by Danny Earnest (Blues Artist from Montana(MT))

In the past few years the "American Songbook" genre (a la Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin) has made quite a comeback with modern artists covering the old standards. Crooner Danny Earnest and his recently released CD "Earnest Songbook" performs this popular style with the same pizzazz as the legends that came before him. One of the tracks showing off his vocal expertise is "Let's Give It a Whirl" in which we get to hear Earnest's lounge influenced vocals and he even does a great Dean Martin imitation through a section of this number. Earnest's jazz/blues influence is well represented in "Velvet Afternoon" in which it features complimenting alluring saxophone work. If you're a "Ratpack" lover you will definitely want to add "Earnest Songbook" to your swinging collection man!
